10 Minute Writing #2 The Object I Brought to Class
When I look at the object I brought to class I think of the countless hours I spent learning my letters. The reason behind thinking of this with this object is, I brought my first set of letter flashcards. To go into more depth, I will use my five senses to describe how they helped me to become the reader and writer I am today. The first sense I used with the flashcards was my sense of sight. I remember constantly looking at them to memorize what the letters looked like. I will never forget the picture on back of the cards as well, such as the apple for A. The second sense I used with the cards was the sense of listening. Who can forget their mother saying saying A is for apple, a-a-a- apple. Let's just say I heard that over a million times. The third sense I used with the cards was the sense of taste. With the sense of taste I could not taste the card, because I would dare not put the card in my mouth. In other words I could taste the knowledge being filled in my head. The fourth sense used with the cards was the sense of touch. I will always remember the smooth silky card running through my fingers as I flipped the card to reveal the next card in the pile. The last sense I witnessed with the cards was the sense of smell. When pulling the cards out of the box they smelled of cardboard. Even though the smell was not strong I still think of them when I smell cardboard today. All of these five senses with these cards remind me of what made me the reader and writer I am today!
