Now that school has been going on for a while I am beginning to feel more comfortable with it. The fact that I now know how the professors operate their classrooms, and understand what is expected from me as a student helps a lot. Every day before class I would get butterflies worrying I did not have my homework done, or if I did the assignment wrong. Now that class has been going on for a while I learned that the professors are there to help us. They are understanding and realize this is all new to us as well. An example of how the professors have helped me a lot would be by email. When I have a question I will email my professors and they are all so quick to answer my emails. This helps a lot having somebody always there to answer any questions I may have.
Another way the college life has become more comfortable for me is I am beginning to make new friends. When I first started to go to school at Rhodes I thought it was going to be so hard meeting new people. So the first week I would sit in between classes by myself. Now I met new people to talk to, and now are friendships. Another way college has set in is I now know the people in my classes. For a while I would walk into a class and wonder if I was in the right room. Now I walk into the classroom and know the people who are suppose to be in my class. Overall now that I have been going to school for a while I feel more comfortable with it every day!
It sounds like your college life has been pretty good so far. I'd have to say that mine has too (: I, too, feel more comfortable with my classes and have a better understanding how the teachers operate and run their class. I think it's really great that the teachers email us back quick and are there to help us, not hurt us. College is already hard enough, but having the teachers there for you makes everything better. I feel like I can pretty much talk to any of my teachers if I need help and they will be there. I was always worried too about making new friends the first quarter I was at Rhodes. Now, I see a lot of the same people I had in my Spring Quarter and still meet up with them and talk. Every semester you will meet new people, that's what I enjoy most about college. Everyone is really friends here and there to help. Each semester will get better and better for you. (: have fun and just keep pushing toward your goal even when it gets hard!
