10 Minute Writing #1

When thinking about writing I always get excited about putting my ideas on paper and writing about what I feel. The excitement of coming up with a new story or expressing my opinions can sometimes be a thrill. The problem with writing for me is I have a fear of people reading what I write. The reason for having this fear is I am scared my paper is not grammatically correct or I will be judged by what I write. An example that has caused this fear was the time in junior high I wrote a paper only for teacher's eyes. Not knowing he would make me read it in class put me in a uncomfortable position. When reading the paper I felt like a was being judged, but now thinking back I was not the only person reading my story with certain views. At the time for me it felt as if it was the end of the world. The task the teacher was trying to get us to perform was for us to achieve self- efficiency. To get through self- efficiency I just have to go back to junior high when we all had out own view! This lesson also taught me when me asked to state my opinion there are no right or wrong answers. Self- efficiency is being able to come up with my own ideas and making it into a story. Even is the criticism is harsh. After all to be a good writer we should all develop some type of self- efficiency.
