The
article “Stay Sweet as You Are” is about advertisements directing the image of
articles towards women to attract guys for marriage. I like this article
because usually all ads for women to make them look better. For most women when
looking for products it is all about making them look better, and we all know
it is to impress guys. The article
points out how ads are directed towards women, but I believe it goes both ways.
Guys like to impress women too, why else would men dress nice and so on. The article
does not direct this because back in the day the main goal for women was to get
married and have kids. The article addressed how these ads started in the 1920’s,
so this shows that it was always a goal to impress men.
Without
reading this article I knew from experiencing other ads that is always show a
flawless girl advertising a product so people buy the product hoping to look
the same way. This article helps to show with examples of advertising soap and
mouth wash. The questioned being asked
is why not give this product a chance if I am able to get guys. When women are
single and the goal is to get guys they are most likely going to try anything.
Overall ads will do anything to sell a product, even when it comes to lying
saying it will get guys to like you. From now on I won’t listen to what ads
say, because they are not always true!
