The bad
news is today is Sunday, and Thanksgiving break is almost over. I must say I had
a good break and I am not ready to go my classes. I loved having free time and
spending it with friends and family. Over break I was able to hang out with
friends that I have not seen in forever. Like I mentioned previously we had
Friendsgiving. During this we were able to celebrate Thanksgiving with each
other. I also celebrated Thanksgiving with family. Like every year we get to
together with each side to catch up and celebrate the holidays. I must say it
was nice seeing all of these people again, and talking about how our lives are
going.
During
break I also went Black Friday shopping. Every year I feel like Black Friday
shopping gets even crazier. The fact that people don’t care about one another
is truly heart breaking. I understand most people want the same items, but I still
feel people should treat people with respect. While some people were rude
others were very nice. I was waiting in line to get a printer and this guy was
very nice. When it came time to get the printer he made sure I got mine before
he got his. Overall I feel like if you treat people with respect you will get
respect back. Just because others are rude does not mean I have to be rude too.
The great part is I had a great break, and I am ready to get back into school
mode!
At thanksgiving I also spend time with family but not so much with friends this year. I have never heard of "Friendsgiving" and that sounds like a great idea. In years passed when I was in high school and had nothing to do I would always hang out with friends and such but this year with me doing post secondary classes plus having a job where I work every single day of the week it is hard to do. Every year we go to my grandma's house for thanksgiving and we also celebrate my birthday since it is merely a week after Thanksgiving. I love spending time with my family but sometimes it gets overbearing because they can be pretty obnoxious and annoying (especially around black friday with my aunts because they are a couple of the crazy people). This brings me to the point of Black Friday. Black Friday has basically become Black Thursday as everything seems to be starting Thursday night now instead of Friday morning. If you think about it, it's kind of odd thinking how so many people go from being thankful for what they have one day to the next fighting other people for more stuff that they do not need. I have never gone Black Friday shopping and never plan to. Also, over thanksgiving break I always seem to wait until Sunday night to do ALL of my homework; I often wonder why I do this to myself, oh well. Anyways, I sense Thanksgiving break as a tease until Christmas break... it cannot come soon enough.
ReplyDeleteI have something that is like a "Friendsgiving", but we just had it Saturday. I am friends with guys that love to hunt. I personally hate it. Well when they get enough "kill" they have a big feast. This year we went, but I did not eat the rabbit and squirral. I just thought the was so gross! I stuck to the mormal things like ham and mashed potatoes. I did try something new though. They had ham gravy there, and I had never had it, but it was pretty good. I have to say that my friends mostly like to do the gag gift Christmas exchange rather than a "Friendsgiving".
ReplyDeleteTo the Black Shopping I have never done it. It seems to crazy. I know that some people are trying to switch to online more. I still think that is crazy, but maybe it is because I am not a big night person. I am a huge morning person. I also do not think I could have the heart to take something away from someone. How do you really know for sure if they really need it or not. It is like a sporting event to me, but the person that wins the most is the person that hurts people the most. I canot wait for Christmas break! The sad thing is for my high school we only get the 24-2 off, and that is it. I do not like that because we are missing out on the Christmas cheer. I mean who really wants to learn when Christmas is almost here?!
