Miscellaneous #8 Voting

Wow the day has come, it is Election Day! The campaigning is soon to come to an end, and we will finally know who will be our President for sure. Today is such a big day for the fact these are the leaders who are in charge of our futures. I don’t know about you guys, but I cannot wait to see who wins. I voted today so hopefully my vote makes a difference. I feel the people I voted for today are the right ones for the future. I just want to see our economy look better, have more job opportunities, and overall just have a better United States. It’s crazy to think we are all a part of this process. Who know maybe this election will go down in history of being one of the most important Presidential elections.
Today was my first time voting ever, and I must say it was different from anything I have ever done. Each step that was taken when voting was so strict. It was like taking a test, and keeping your answers from your classmates. I liked this because it’s nice knowing people don’t know who you voted for. So the main reason for this blog is to tell everyone to get out there and vote. Remember our futures our on the line, so if you want to make a difference vote. Make your opinions matter! Trust me, it makes you feel important when you have a say in the government! I hope this is a start to a better United States.

  1. I can’t believe this day has finally came either! It’s also my first time voting and it was pretty cool to think about that MY vote counts. I have quite a few friends that say they don’t vote because their vote isn’t going to make or break the outcome, but ultimately nobody knows that. The way I think about it is that people died for our right to vote and if you don’t vote.. then don’t complain about the outcome ha! Sounds pretty plain and simple, but it’s just one thing that bugs me is when people complain complain complain but they didn’t take part in making the outcome happy. Anyways haha! I sent in my absentee ballot the other week because my family and I are always so busy and I know I wouldnt have been able to make it to the polls today with school and all. I, too, can’t wait to see the outcome. It’s been a pretty good race this past few months and I truly feel like it’s going to be a close call. I think both candidates have their pros and cons and I’m not going to get radical or be like some of those people who go nuts if they don’t vote for the same person I did. Everyone has the right to voice their opinion and be a part in putting our next President in office. Hopefully we will all know tomorrow who our new President will be in January or so whenever that day is.

  2. I am also a first time voter because I just turned 18 in October. I can not wait for all the phone calls, and the mailing to stop. I feel like everyone in Ohio has a huge duty since we are a swing state. It is hard to think that the state of Ohio could be the determining factor for our next future president, and the leader for the next four leaders. In my government class we had to watch the debates, and look up the platforms. After looking them up they have some ideas that are the similar, but not that many. this race is so split, and my teachers worry that the congress may have to pick the president. It be interesting to see what the popular vote is because the elector college may change Ohio's vote like they did last year. I just can not wait for the constant craming of who are you voting for to be over. I feel that I get it a lot because I am an older senior in my class, and others just want to shove their views down your thoarts. I feel like your beliefs, and the person you vote for is very personal. Also that no one should ask who you are voting for. I also thought that my voting experince was great for my first time. I went in showed my id, and got my ballot sat down and voted. It was weird when I went because when no one my age was there, but it was so fast. I took me 10 minutes. I compared this to my brother's 2 hour wait. I thought I did pretty good. I can not wait to see who wins.
