Other Class #10 Computer Class

Yesterday was a great day; I have just now completed my computer class! It is not like the class was hard or anything, but it is great knowing I have the class done. I now can leave school early on Tuesday’s. Although the class was not supposed to be over until next Tuesday I finished my last assignment yesterday. I could have left early, but I decided I wanted to get the class over with. On my last day of class we learned about PowerPoint. Of course I had no problem learning this material, because I did PowerPoint all though high school. I think I even learned Power Point in sixth grade. So never less to say I knew PowerPoint pretty good. I feel as if our teacher knew we known how to do PowerPoint, but she felt it would be a good refresher for all of us.
Now that my first semester is coming to an end, I now have three of my classes done with. The three classes that I have done are Sociology, First Year Experience, and of course my computer class. Being able to accomplish finishing these classes feel great and it makes me want to get my other class done with as well. The current classes that I need to finish are Com 110, my math class, and Chemistry. Of course with all the classes I have taken these are my hardest courses. Although I want to be done I have to remember work still needs to be done in the classes, and I will have to finish strong, but for now I will still be happy that I just finish one of my college classes!

  1. You are so lucky, I wish I was done with my computer class. My professor is really easy though and funny so it is not too bad. Each time we learn something like Excel or Power Point or Word we would have one or two classes practicing it and then we would have two days where we worked on the assignments and if we wanted we didn’t have to come and would just do it at home. After those two days we would come for our exam. And I have not had that class this whole month due to him not being able to come two days and the labs we have two days. I have mine on Fridays at 8 so it is really nice not having to come because my second class is at 11 and then I am done for the day. I really think it was a dumb class because basically you have to know all that information to graduate high school anymore. It was super easy and quick to get through so I almost wished I never had to take it so that I could focus on other classes. But since that class is easy I pretty much have it finished up, we have one more day for it and then we will be done. I also have the first year experience class done which was also a very pointless class to me. I think it took up a lot of extra time that I could have spent on all my other classes. Really, I am not sure if it was helpful. Anyway, good luck with the rest of your classes!

  2. I actually did not have to take a computer class. I tested out of the class, and I feel like it was worth it. When I was a freshman in high school I had to take a computer class, and I thought that it could be counted as my class at college, but when I got there they said that it did not count because I took it as a freshamn. I thought that most of the things on a computer had not changed. However, I did study for the test because I wanted a refresher on how to do most of the programs. For the test they gave you a guide on what you might see. I was very familiar with word because I used it for all of my papers at school. The only major one I need to figure out was excel. I had forgot to do some simple things. The thing that made it easy to study was that my dad is great with computers, and made me a liitle practice test. That helped so much! I honestly do not think I could have handled taking that class because in high school it just seemed so boring, so I thought it would at college too. I am glad I did it that way for sure. The only thing that I really remember from the high school class was that my teacher would always play music because half the time we were always just working alone. That was so sad to me it just did not seem like fun to work by yourself. I also did not enjoy it because I had come from a leadership class that was so much fun, did a lot of group work, and many hands on projects. Then I would go and work by myslef. Needless to say I was happy when that class was over!

  3. When I went to take the COMPASS test this summer before signing up for classes the first semester, my results showed that I was suppose to take a computer class. When I went to schedule classes, I was surprised to find out that they were not going to make me take a computer class. I was pretty happy about this because I know a good amount of information about computers already and I felt that it would be a waste of my time. I do not need a computer class for when I go off to college for real next year so I figured taking a computer class would not help me in any way, shape, or form. Speaking of a waste of time, First Year Experience 101. The only good thing that this class was good for is meeting new people. I met like a total of three or four people in that class that I interact with vaguely still. Our instructor in first year experience was pretty clueless and my opinion is that all of the assignments were so not worth doing. Nothing in first year experience was useless to real life as I have already forgotten most of the stuff in that class. The only good thing about that class is that it only lasted half a semester. That was great because the classes were merely two hours long and was so boring; it was by far my longest class. I almost regret not taking first year experience online so I would have had more time to do other stuff such as work in other classes. I am only taking a total of four classes right now and have no classes at all on Friday so i would say I lucked out a lot.
