Other Class #6 English

So I just got done having my conference with Mrs. Piro. I love being able to go over our English papers, for the reason it makes me feel way more confident when turning the papers in. I like being able to meet face to face with the person actually grading the papers. I feel like I form more of an understanding of the topic. I like how she lets us know if we are doing the assigned essay correct or not. I feel as if she is pushing us to become better writers! I like that because I am beginning to feel more comfortable with my writing than I use to. So the reason I am writing this is express my thanks to Mrs. Piro for taking time out to sit with us one on one. There are so many teachers out there who just tell us what to write and collect the essays when they are done.
Today I learned my paper is aiming towards the right direction, but with anything it still needs more work. I am going to try and do my best in order to get a good grade. The end of the semester is getting closer; our third paper is about do. We then only have one more paper, and then something for our final. I am not sure how our finals works, but I am sure having to write these essays we will be prepared. We also have to keep in mind the time is getting shorter to work on our blogs. It feels like the semester has just begun, but now I am seeing the end coming pretty soon.

  1. I completely agree with you and would like to thank Mrs. Piro for taking the time out of her busy schedule to go over our papers with us. I've never had a professor willing to actually sit down and help out her students with their work as much as she does. I know that by doing all of this is shows that she truly cares and wants us all to succeed as writers. You’re right, there are a lot of teachers that just tell us when the paper is do, don’t really go over it a lot, and then turn it in on the date that it’s due. I had a lot of teachers like that in high school and it was horrible. I’m really glad that we have these one on one conferences and she is able to help us our with our work. Although we might not think we will be doing a lot of writing once we get into our careers and even further in our lives, I really think we will use a lot of what we are learning now. I don't really know how right now, but I know that we all will. Language and writing is with us wherever we go. I can't believe it's almost the end of the semester already it seems like we just started! I can't wait for a little bit of a break from school though. I seems like everything has been nonstop right now, so it'll be nice to be able to chill and relax.

  2. I also enjoy meeting with her! At my high school we can never really meet one on one with our teachers. When we do meet with them it is in Rider Time, and they are in charge of a class! So that makes things very diffucult. You are try to focus, and get help when some underclassman is being immature. This causes the teacher to yell at them more than pay attention to youy and your needs. Do not get me wrong they try really hard to help, but I feel like they have so much going on that it is hard for the. Also I feeel like mmeting does help because it helps to know beforehand if there is any major points she will take off for, so you get a better grade on it. It would not help to just turn in a paper without someone looking at it. I mean how are you suppose to become a better writer if no helps to point out the flaws in it. I know I have made many mistakes in my papers, but as time went on I learned not to do that again. I also feel it helps to know how she would grade it if we did not do it, and also how much time we should spend to fic it to get a wonderful grade on it. I feel that if it was not fo rher doing this that I might have gotten worse grades on my paper. I may not always agree with it, but I know that at the end of it all she is grading my paper; she knows what she likes to see, and what she does not like to see. So I feel that these confrences have helped so much not only on my papers, but on my overall writing skills.
